Vancouver Island Fishing
Vancouver Island is known around the world for it’s amazing salmon and halibut fishing, from early May through middle of September anglers can find good to great fishing throughout the island. Both the east and west coast of the island offers salmon and halibut fishing but it really depends on your timing to hit it right. Almost all the fishing communities along the coast boast about great catches and like to lay claim to “Salmon Capital of the World”.
Being a guide for the past 22 years in British Columbia I have fished most locations that claim to have the worlds best salmon and halibut fishing. Quatsino Sound is where we have chosen to run our operation as we truly feel it offers our clients the best of the best, not only in Salmon and Halibut catches but also Ling Cod, Snapper and other ground fish.
Not only does this region offer some of the best fishing but also some of the calmest and protected water you will find anywhere on Vancouver Island. Salmon runs that migrate from Alaska swim their way down the west coast so they must swim right by our favorite fishing spots. Not only that but if you are wanting to target Halibut you don’t need to run 30 miles off shore. We are very fortunate to have some excellent Halibut ground only 3 miles from our protected waters so we can easily get out and limit our guests in a hurry.
Our boats and equipment is second to none, along for the ride is our sponsors Pure Fishing which just happens to have a line up tackle that includes; Penn, Fenwick, Berkley, Hardy no name a few. All of our saltwater tackle is provided by Gibbs/Delta , Canada’s largest Lure Manufacture. Gibbs is known for their dedication to west coast tackle and anglers providing us with the best of tackle specifically designed for British Columbia Salmon and Halibut.
