Our professional guide service offers day trip fishing adventures and site seeing tours out of Vancouver's downtown harbour. The waters located outside Vancouver's downtown can often produce some great fishing for Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon and summer Sockeye Salmon. The area surrounding Howe Sound is more know for Winter Chinook and Summer Sockeye although you can catch all 5 species of salmon throughout the year. STS Guiding Service can offer you half day and full day charters for salmon out of downtown Vancouver. Depending on the season we can also fish for crab, shrimp, and ground fish. More often than not, your captain will drop by the crab and shrimp grounds to drop a trap or two, and then head out for some open water salmon fishing. At the end of your day, checking your traps can be fun, rewarding, and tasty, especially when those traps are full of west coast crab and shrimp. Species of salmon fished for is seasonal; Chinook salmon is very good during winter for feeder size, spring and summer for early Fraser fish and fall for the big runs of Harrison River Chinook. Early summer is also good for Coho salmon heading up the inside passage and Sockeye heading up the Fraser. Regardless of when you are visiting Vancouver, spending a few hours on the water is a must.
