Fly Fishing - Fly Patterns

Grifths Gnat

Hook: 16-12 light wire
Thread: 8/0 Black
Body: Peacock herl
Hackle: Grizzly hackle

Tying Instructions:

  • Tie in 2 grizzly hackles by their tips.
  • Tie in 2 strands of peacock herl, and wrap them forward to eye of hook to form body.
  • Palmer grizzly hackle over the peacock herl and secure with thread at the eye of the hook.
  • Trim, whip finish, and head cement.
