Hook:
12- 6 nymph
Thread: 6/0 Black
Tail: 3 brown goose biots
Body: Rabbit dubbing with angel hair shavings mixed in
Ribbing: Brown larva lace
Shellback: Pheasant tail fibers
Thorax: same as body |
- Tie in a brown goose biot out each side at bend of hook. Then tie in one more straight out the back between the other two goose
biots.
- Tie in larva lace and let it hang back over tail.
- Spin dubbing on to thread and wrap forward 3/4 the way up the hook shank, getting slightly thicker towards the eye.
- Wrap larva lace forward, with about 3 or 4 wraps, depending on the size of the nymph. Secure with thread at end of the body.
- Tie in pheasant tail fibers with tips extending back over body.
- Spin more dubbing on to thread and wrap forward to eye of the hook. Make sure that the thorax is thicker than the body.
- Pull pheasant tail fibers forward over the thorax and secure with thread and trim at eye of the hook.
- Whip finish and head cement.
- Use a bodkin to pull out fibers from the thorax to form legs.
