Recent Adventure of the Month

This group arrived from the UK on Sept 10. None of this group have ever fished in British Columbia before so they are in for a trip of a lifetime. Brian, Moe, Miles and Davey are all from northern England, mostly experienced in fly fishing for trout and salmon. The first day they fished with our guide Matt and hooked over 50 salmon on the fly between the 4 anglers. Since the first day they have hooked salmon on the fly each day. The second day of their trip I took them sturgeon fishing, well to make a long story short, they now want to fish sturgeon more than fly fish for salmon.

Cruising the Fraser River.

After fishing several days on the Fraser and Harrison, I decided to take them on a special trip up the Fraser canyon to fish for sturgeon. We departed Harrison Bay with our 24 foot whitewater special and headed to Hope, BC where the Fraser canyon begins. It takes approximately 90 minutes by Jet Boat so we stopped several times to fly fish for Pinks and sturgeon fish along the way.

Miles & Brian.

This area is spectacular with large canyon walls, sharp rocks and incredible views, the fishing is pretty good too. Along the way we stopped every 30 minutes to fish, just to break up the trip, Brian hooked into this nice fish on one of our stops. As we neared the canyon, we stopped one more time for a snack break and another nice fish caught by Moe.

.

The canyon is not a place to take lightly, that's why we have a 24 foot Jet Boat that is Custom made for running whitewater. This boat can handle just about anything the Fraser Canyon can dish up. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of pics of the nasty rapids that lie ahead as most of us are hanging on for dear life.

Miles, Brian and Davey with Sturgeon.

Once we reach the canyon, we fished several back eddies before we head back to Harrison bay. We managed to landed several more fish over 5 feet and 1 fish over 6 feet. We landed a total of 6 sturgeon and a bunch of pink salmon for a full day on the water and incredible trip from Harrison Bay to Yale, BC.
